Weis Markets, Inc., Enola, PA

FCE has performed civil engineering and land surveying services for many of Weis Markets, Inc.’s stores throughout the years. FCE was selected to serve as the civil engineer for their flagship store, which is located in Enola, Pennsylvania. Initially, the project proved challenging as there were some legal constraints regarding conditional approvals prior to its construction. Once those items were resolved, FCE proceeded to provide land surveying services for the tract. The site also posed a challenge with regards to obtaining a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) in addition to numerous stormwater design challenges. FCE also provided land development services for the store’s design. In the end, the grocery retailer was able to open its doors to its customers in early 2017. The 65,000 sq. ft. store boasts an ice cream parlor, pub, beer garden, drive through pharmacy and several other customer-friendly amenities.
