United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI), is a distributor of natural and organic food throughout the United States and Canada. UNFI approached FCE seeking to obtain civil engineering design services to complete a 675,000 sq. ft. distribution facility. FCE served as the civil engineer for this project, providing land surveying, land development and permitting coordination with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) .
In the May 6, 2011 edition of the Central Penn Business Journal, the UNFI Distribution Center was named the Second Largest Green Building in Central PA. The building received a LEED Gold rating and currently employs between 250 and 500 people in Manchester Township.
