Project Overview

First Capital Engineering provided site engineering services and site layout for the 32,000-square-foot activity center, which included several athletic fields to serve both the church and school.

The Activity Center was designed to house a large multipurpose room that would function as the school’s gymnasium, and as an area for the church to hold large assemblies.

The land development plan required approval by the Zoning Hearing Board because of its location within the Agricultural Conservation Zone. FCE successfully presented the plan and the case before the Zoning Hearing Board.

In addition, FCE submitted an application to South Middleton Township for conditional use approvals (specifically Sections 602.3. Non-municipal outdoor regulation facilities and organizations, Section 602.5. Schools and related education facilities and accessory uses) for the construction of a 400 Meter Running Track with soccer field, a 34’ x 68’ Picnic Pavilion, and a 7,200 square foot pole building to replace the storage sheds currently located on the project site at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. FCE designed grading and stormwater management plans for the construction of the new 400-meter running track and created erosion and sedimentation control plans and applications to procure necessary NPDES permits. Bid specifications and contract documents were written for the project and sent to potential contractors.
