Sheetz – West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, PA

First Capital Engineering has served as the civil engineer for many Sheetz stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including the location in West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, PA. 

This project involved the site design of a new Sheetz Convenience Store on a 2.88 acre parcel at the intersection of Route 30 and Prospect Road in West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, PA.  

 The project required the dedication of rights-of -way to both PennDOT and West Hempfield Township. The plan included road widening for turn lanes and driveways. In order to obtain final approval for the proposed project, approximately 500 feet of stormwater and temporary construction easements needed to be negotiated with the neighboring property owner to allow the conveyance of stormwater to the stream. 

Another unique aspect of this project was the relocation of a water line that was located along the proposed curb line. The water line had to be relocated before the outset of the project without interruption to the water service to users.
