First Capital Engineering President John J. Luciani Honored with 2025 Icon Award
We are proud to announce that John J. Luciani, President of First Capital Engineering (FCE), has been selected by the Central Penn Business Journal (CPBJ) as a recipient of the prestigious 2025 Icon Honors Award. This award recognizes outstanding business leaders over the age of 60 who have significantly impacted their industries and the Central Pennsylvania community through their vision, integrity, and dedication to service.
Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director at CPBJ, praised this year’s honorees, highlighting their leadership, community involvement, and mentorship contributions.
About John J. Luciani
John has led First Capital Engineering since founding the company in 1995. Under his leadership, FCE has provided exceptional services in:
John graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and holds an MBA from the University of Scranton. His extensive career includes serving as Chief Engineer for the City of Scranton and working with PennDOT’s District 4-0. For over 25 years, he has served as Township Engineer for Springettsbury Township in York County, PA, while also mentoring a dedicated team at FCE.
John holds professional licenses across multiple states:
- Professional Engineer (PE): Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Virginia
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS): Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
- Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO): Pennsylvania
In recognition of his expertise, John was nominated by Governor Shapiro and confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate in 2024 to serve on the State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
